Managers Lead by Example
If you’re a manager, you have an increased responsibility to educate your team on our Code, lead by example and uphold AppFolio’s high standards of ethical conduct. You should foster an open-door policy and encourage your teammates to come forward any time with ethical concerns.
If one of your employees reports a complaint to you in confidence, you must promptly notify Human Resources or the Compliance & Ethics Team. Failing to do so may result in disciplinary action.
Managers should also regularly discuss compliance and ethics issues with their team members to help them spot issues in their everyday roles.
Tips:
- Become familiar with our Code and policies as well as all relevant portions of AppFolio’s Manager Playbook. If you’re unsure about next steps, contact Human Resources or the Compliance & Ethics Team.
- Keep an open door and dialogue with your teammates.
- Educate your team on how to spot red flags when they are carrying out their responsibilities.
